Artistic director
Margo

Founder and director Margo Keenan has studied voice privately for many years and performed as a soloist and as a lead in light opera productions. She founded and sang in the a cappella quartet Thin Ice over a period of twelve years.

In addition to participating in numerous conducting workshops, Margo completed the advanced level of the Programme de formation pour chefs de choeur (Alliance des chorales du Québec) in 2000. Subsequently, she studied conducting privately with Peter Schubert and Michael Zaugg. She also founded and directed several elementary and high school choirs in the Montreal area.

In all of her choirs, she is known for her original programming, which blends familiar with new and unusual music in sophisticated arrangements that challenge singers and delight audiences.

In 2013, Margo was presented with the Prix Jean-Pierre Guindon in recognition of her contribution to choral singing in Quebec over more than twenty-five years.

In 2014, Margo took on the direction of the Philomela Singers, a community choir based in the West Island. She is also the musical director of Vox Aeterna (formerly Les Voix de Montréal), a choir which forms each spring to perform in the Gala Concert of the Festival de la voix, founded by performing artist Kerry-Anne Kutz in 2014.
